Tour itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Kibale Forest National park
After breakfast drive to Kibale forest national park and arrive in the afternoon for lunch. Take a nature hike to the crater lakes
and Nyakasura's ‘Amabereganyinamwiru’ loosely translated as the ‘growing breasts on the rock’.
Day 2: Chimp trekking
After breakfast start your chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest national park. Then, continue to Semuliki national park for
birding and primates tramping.
Day 3: Primates Trek in the Semuliki Valley
Have breakfast and get into the rainforest in Semuliki valley for chimp tramping and birding. After lunch, go back to the forest
for a wildlife visit.
Day 4: Semuliki to Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth following a pleasant road along Rwenzori Mountain, known as the ‘Mountain of the
Moon’.Enjoy a game drive on your way to Mweya Safari Lodge. After lunch at the Lodge, sail along the Kazinga Channel,
which is known for its exceptional birding and game screening.
Day 5: Wildlife tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will have to get upearly in the morning to catch up with the early risers, especially predators like hyenas and leopards.
After breakfast continue to Kyambura Gorge for chimp trailing. Enjoy lunch at Jacana Safari Lodge andtake a walk in
Maramagambo forest. Visit the bat cave where bats are feasted on by enormous pythons.
Day 6: QENP to Bwindi via Ishasha
After breakfast, we will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the Ishasha southern sector of Queen
Elizabeth National Park in search of tree-climbing lions. We will carry on to Bwindi and get there in the early evening. To end
the day, we will have a community walk to the Pygmies for cultural leisure.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast early in the morning, leave with your packed lunch and walk to the park headquarters for a briefing. At 8.00am
you will get on a mountain gorilla trail in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Observing mountain gorillas grumbling among
themselves and silverbacks (the head of the gorilla family) thumping their chest will send a chill up your backbone. Go back to
Buhoma Community Bandas to have dinner and rest overnight.
Day 8: Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, drive through the beautiful the Kigezi Highlands– the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ –and arrive in Bunyonyi Overland
Camp for lunch. Enjoy a boat trip to the ‘Punishment’ Island, where the traditional Bakiga people would send girls impregnated
out of matrimony to let them die of hunger. Or they would risk swimming back to their homes and sink along the way. The
island also has many beautiful birds.
Day 9: Kampala Trip
Take an early breakfast and start driving back to Kampala with lunch in Mbarara. Have a stop-over at the Equator for
photography and then arrive to Kampala in the evening for a visit of the city.
